Sarees By Manish Malhotra

Schedules Offices Major Seminary from January 31 to March 8, 2011 (open at all)

Prettiest Shade Of Blonde

But what's behind the big blue doors of the seminar?

Grand Seminary, located at 2 rue brothers, in the heart of Strasbourg is located at the rear of Cathedral, directly contiguous to it.

The entrance to the seminar may seem intriguing with this huge massive blue door in the middle of a huge pink sandstone facade of the Vosges. Behind these doors, we discover the quiet inner courtyard of the seminary, after passing the reception where a watchman is morning and afternoon from Monday to Friday.

The courtyards
It should be noted that our seminar also accommodates in its offices in some diocesan services (catechesis, Catholic education, service of vocations, the Pontifical Mission Societies, etc..) And over twenty Students who are not seminarians and rent a dorm room quiet.

Two large spread between the four wings of the building, arranged in the shape of "F": a space with parking for vehicles and the other with an ancient cloister, pleasant space green and quiet, directly adjoining the cathedral.

places of prayer
Our house training for future priests of the Catholic Church has its in a large chapel. We will find the offices for the Community Liturgy of the Hours (Lauds and Vespers) and to celebrate mass. It is open to the public at times of offices.
See "The community" where schedules contained in paragraph "Come pray with the seminarians' .

Our chapel dedicated to St. Mary Major, is decorated with an organ from 1985 to accompany and support our prayers.

The large painting adorning the chapel reminds the saints who watch with us in prayer, and whose charisma and given their lives are still source of inspiration for us seminarians.
For personal prayer and for greater usability in small meetings we also have an oratory. We prefer this location for prayer and Lectio Divina .

workspaces, library seminarians
As we mentioned earlier, we are a house of formation. A house of spiritual formation, intellectual and human for the evangelical mission to which we prepare. For this it is essential to have a library near his elbow.
With thousands of titles our library has seminarians a set of books essential to our training organized by various themes: spirituality, exegesis, councils, sacraments, canon law, dictionaries, collections, lives of saints etc..

The seminar also has its in another library, ancient, dating from the XVIII th century. See article on this library .

Working rooms are also available for our onsite training, including room and room Weber Elchinger. But Much of our classes are taught in the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Strasbourg at the university located in walking distance.

To complete our training, we subscribe to local and national press, and many journals, many of which are specialized in pastoral, dogmatic theology, etc.. And a computer room with free access.

The Refectory and the ... "Upper Room"!

But there are also training a human dimension that is developed by the fraternity. We thus also a friendly place called Upper Room with reference to the place where the apostles gathered awaiting the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.
But man does not live on the word of God ... We must also nourish our bodies. Our meals are prepared by a restaurant and took place in community. A dining feast is occasionally prepared.

The seminarian's room
Finally, we need to sleep well and have a little privacy! ... We obviously our room each furnished with everything needed.

Here are some places of our life together, but of course the list is not exhaustive, and the seminar is vast ... Again the're welcome here if you want more about the seminar and the life of seminarians. Feel free to contact See contacts.
